01 Nov Being a speaker and panelist at the EdTechX Asia Conference
Brian was invited to be a speaker and panellist at the EdTechX Asia Conference at the Singapore EXPO @ MAX Atria on 31 October and 1 November 2017
His talk Learning 3.0: Using technology, teams and terabytes to develop 21st century skills in university and corporate learners showed how team-based learning (TBL) is the preferred teaching/ learning method by millennials. Unlike the traditional classroom, learning outcomes in a TBL classroom also increased as the number of students increased.
Participants at the talk got to experience a TBL classroom using InteDashboard™ . They each logged onto the software platform to take an Individual Readiness Assurance Test. They then came together in small groups to complete a Team Readiness Assurance Test.
Group scores from the TRAT were a marked improvement from individual IRAT scores.
As a panellist, Brian shared interesting insights for the discussions on ‘Measuring Effectiveness of Digital Implementations of EdTech in Schools’ and ‘Improving Students’ Learning Outcomes by Harnessing Potential of Big Data’.
